The Song of Angry Singaporeans

To the tune of "Do you hear the people sing" a.k.a.  "Song of Angry Men" from Les Miserables.

Do you hear the people sing?
Singing the song of empty trains
It's the wistful song of people who are late for work again
Every train that's come and gone
Had been so packed they couldn't get on
So they've taken to this song to say that's wrong

Will you wake up earlier so you can get to work on time
Or blame the Foreign workers who are dirty rotten slime
And they're taking our jobs, and taking our seats, it's a crime

Do you hear the people sing
Singing the song of COE
It's the music of the people yearning for a car to buy
But with premiums so damn high
All they can do is moan and sigh
As for trains, that's been explained in the previous verse.

All you really want is just a car for your personal liberty
To go wherever you may want or where you need to be
So fight for the right to be free of the COE

Do you hear the people sing
It is the song of desperate men
Trying to get a flat they can afford to house their wife and kids
They can't pay the COV
So they're queuing with HDB
And they hope they'll get a place before they're dead

As you're getting older you get bolder you are buay kia si
But the rising healthcare costs are making you kia buay si
Cos dying is easy, it's living that's hard - its not free

Do you hear the people sing
Singing the song of angry men
It is the song of people who won't vote for PAP
They have had enough of Lee
Now they are yearning to be free
Of the HDB, the COE and the MRT
